Katrin Jonas writes: We are monitoring the number of people entering and leaving the Bloomsbury café plus observing their distribution within the café area through beam breaking gates and a vision system. Via Bluetooth and wireless network we then send the information to a database. Right in front of the entrance of Gordon’s café we have placed a display, showing the live occupation of the alternative café which is taking the records from the database, again using wireless network. This way we offering information on a remote location at the moment of decision offering information on an alternative choice should the place they are looking at be full. I'll be visiting tomorrow and will try and post some photos.
